CLET ABRAHAM
Clet Abraham (Brittany, October 2, 1966) is a French street artist who has been active in Italy since 1990, where he has adapted road signs in several cities. He started his idea in Florence and has since received a lot of media attention for his work. In 2013 he started in Amsterdam and Brussels. Abraham uses the universal and wordless communication of these road signs and adds humor to the streets in which they stand. He uses removable vinyl stickers that can remain in place for a week or five years, depending on the response of local authorities.
In 2017, such adapted road signs also appeared in Rotterdam. On behalf of the municipality, the stickers were removed again by employees of the City Management, because they would pose a risk to road safety. In 2019, Abraham started posting stickers in the United States.
